My seesta's shower

She and the host, one of her best friends, Monica.

Kirk had been in town for his work on Friday and offered to take Sophia down to SD early with him. Ross, Mila, and I, would of course follow after Ross got off work just a few hours later. Ha.... sucker....

Ross came home feeling a bit under the weather, and while he crashed on the guest bed (ours was covered in folded laundry--- you don't want to see what happens to my house on "pack-for --out-of-town day") I made the "could you maybe, possibly, consider, perhaps.... " phone call to my parents... and got the SUPER-Nana and Papa approval... "yes go ahead and enjoy your peaceful night while we enjoy our granddaughter. See you in the morning." Woo hooo!!

It doesn't seem like much. But with Mila in bed by 6:30, Sophia's progressively later and more difficult "8 o'clock" bed-time can get really tiring. Usually never really ending 'till like 9. So an evening for two from 6:30 on? Just what the doctor ordered. Har Har.

So we pulled in to town just in time for Mel's shower, which is why Mila made it into the shower post. NOT because I had her there. I had two free hands for shrimp cocktail and chocolate PB cupcakes the whole time. Thanks Ross. :)

Oh I had so much fun catching up on your cute fam and all your exciting stories that just make my whole night...I'm loving your hair by the way...and Melissa has got to be THE cutest most gorgeous mama in the world! And your pictures are OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD. I can't wait...(I'm getting the D60 for Christmas...it's been a long time coming and seriously I've held out and been oh so patient with my pathetic little dying camera. Like I seriously have to hold down the button for a whole minute and by that time, my precious moment is out the door gone. And no, I'm not starting my own photography business as everyone I know is buying one and doing that now. Not that I ever wanted to or would, I just want amazing pictures. Although, I do think you should. You're practically a professional, you know! p.s. I'm loving your new template! You crack me up...I just love you.

Can you please be a child/family/FOOD photographer? Too bad I've already had my nightly rocky road and I'm somehow dying for some candy like the one you posted. Or maybe some of that delicious fruit. Yum.

Your voicemail MADE MY DAY. I love you for that.

lovely party, lovely girls. and WHAT A FABULOUS SURPRISE NIGHT ALMOST ALONE! oo, that sounded SO needed, so refreshing.

I'll have to ask my cousin where she got annie those fun tights..I must admit she gave them to me when annie was tiny tiny, and i didn't pull them out until halloween because really, what goes with RED and BLACK tights? but ever since I put them on her, they're SO fun I'm sorry i didn't earlier. and I was so happy to find that little black jumper in the catacombs of my girl baby clothes...anyway, thanks for the compliment. ANYTHING coming from you feels a little more special than most. :)

I know Lillie, your photography! That first pic was straight out of a magazine. It's part beautiful people, part excellent taste, part photography skills. Seriously, if I didn't know better, I'd leave some anonymous comment about you not having to always prove your life is perfect... (just kidding). Oh I miss you Lillie. Please come visit--any business trips coming up?
