The Napa Valley Ragnar

Did I mention I was doing the Napa Valley Ragnar last weekend? I did! ... with 11 other women, and there's so much to write and so many photos. But as usual, it'll take me a while to get around to. So for starters, here's a few photos. Lizzie took the one of the bridge while I was on my first run. I had the very first leg at 6am and it was dark for the first half. It was a nice little 4.5 mile run. I got to run to the bridge and over about a mile of it, then they turned us around and went back. Sadly, they couldn't get the approval to run all the way across the bridge. But it was pretty surreal.

186 miles covered, 12 runners in our 20s, 30s, and 40s, 2 vans, 34 hours. It took us a while. :) We ran from San Francisco to Calistoga and saw some of the most beautiful scenery along the way. We didn't sleep. We were all wildly emotional by the end. And I'm desperately trying not to recall half of the things I said and did in that state... but I could never have imagined how much fun I'd have, and how bonded I would feel to these women. I thought this kind of love was left in my past with girls camp and high school sports. It felt good to get it back. :)

Um. That is not how I run. Like I'm a little tea cup. I really don't think that's how I run. I must have just checked my iphone or something. er...
I skipped from the very beginning to the very end. I'm not leaving it at that--- there are so many photos I want to share. But I was anxious to start... and it's midnight, and I still don't feel like I've caught up on sleep.

Love the aprons. You ladies are my new inspiration. As soon as I pop out this third baby I'm totally going to start running. Also thanks for the necklace info. I appreciate it.

YES! I love RAGNAR. I did my first one last month through Minnesota/Wisconsin. Such a great time. Makes me understand how people can get addicted to running.

PS: I've been reading your blog for a year or so now and have been meaning to comment on so many posts. You are a great writer and an even better photographer. Keep it up!

You look so great after having your baby. I am struggling with my after-baby weight. How did you do it??

Hey Lillie! Not even sure how I found your blog but I've been a "quiet" reader for a while now. I love your honesty {lice post} and photography!

I also love Ragnar. We've {as couples} done three now and are headed to the Florida Keys in Jan for our next one. Napa is on our list...they are addicting!

Can't wait to see the rest of your pictures!

Oh man. So fun. I have always debated running in that race. I think I need to start to. ;) If you ever need someone last minute let me know. I will come run it with you girls next year. That would be awesome.

Looks like you had a blast.
LOVE the pics of Maui. SO jealous. I think it's my favorite island to visit.
