Hmpf

I was loading up my bar for body pump today at the gym when an older lady said

"So it's comin' along huh?"

"Ahhh--- slowly but surely" I say in response---
about my baby weight loss so far. Most of the faces there are regulars and most of them know I just had a baby, so it doesn't seem weird to me--- what a nice lady, I think.

but then she says

"how far along ARE you?"
Ah man....

It's just kind of sad that the first big milestone I'll hit is just NOT looking like I'm still growing a 10 pound baby. Whatevs.

That's ridiculous, you're gorgeous. It will come though!

Yeah, Isaac was 3 months old and people were still asking me when I was due. I was even holding him at the time they asked me on one occasion. He's a big baby but come on, put it together people!

I was at a wedding 4 weeks after I had my first son. We ran into some acquaintances of ours and one of them stated "You're about ready to pop eh?!"
I told him our little guy was already a month old and then I proceeded to die with embarrassment.
Hopefully the experience was just as awkward and embarrassing for him...

Ok seriously?... all you've been talking about is stuff about your babies room that it won't even remember or care about whether you have pictures... videos... etc. none of that really matters and you're complaining about how you look... Did you even see the news this morning?... How about showing a little sympathy for all the people who pretty much just lost ohhh... Everything... but nooo poor you! some belly flab... how ever will you survive... come on.. you've got it pretty dang easy compared to some people. Can't you just be grateful for that?...

Whoever "Anonymous" person that left the most recent comment is a jackass. He/She failed to realize you weren't the MSNBC blog, but rather a regular funny, beautiful, mother, that happens to be expressing what's on her mind that day. Which is why we can all relate and love you Lillie and your blog. "Ungrateful?" Hardly!

"Anonymous" if what you had to say was so important you would attach your real name to in. So please step down from your self righteous soap box, because your rude and critical comments are not welcome here.

You are beautiful and I so enjoy the pictures on your blog. I hope you don't let people who are rude, and obviously jealous, stop you from writing and showcasing your family and your talent. That mean comment was way more off-putting than a wacky lady at the gym. Tell your story. It's yours. Those who don't want to read it don't have too. There's plenty of tsunami stories out there...

I am rolling at those comments...Really? Isn't this your blog, and shouldn't you be able to write about you?
You looked great tonight! So skinny!

I wish there were a way to block psychos from my blog. Maybe it's time to say no to anonymous commenters but then I'd miss out on the nice ones... Oh What to do.... what to do...

I'm going to go debate over that for hours on end like the shallow narcacist that I am. I can't think of a more important decision in ALL the world.

Commenters like this always slay me-- all I do is talk about my baby's room? Clearly he's perused a ways down this blog he despises. All that time wasted... time he could have spent sending resources to Japan or building homes in Mexico or saving puppy dogs from his high high horse.

This also happened to me! It was the UPS man. I told him that Lian was sleeping upstairs and he was really embarrassed.
Oh hi Anon-Troll! Suck an egg.
You are so beautiful and talented and I love your blog. I hate comments like that, you wake up in the morning and check your blog and then WOW...rude comment. I feel sorry for these people, really sorry.

Have a wonderful day! It took me about a year to loose all the baby weight.xx

Yeah, that same thing happened to me when Ian was like 3 months old. It kinda felt like I got punched in the gut, but tried to act like I wasn't offended at all, and tried not to make it awkward, explaining I JUST had a baby, even though he was already 3 months old! But he felt so bad, and I swear it's been happenning to everyone lately! Maybe it's number 3, because all my friends that just had baby #3 seem to get that a lot too. I do have to say though, you look AMAZING! You always look super gorgeous, and I'm sure in a month all the ladies at the gym will be envious. Ps. We got Finn's announcement! Oh my goodness he is just stunning. And i love all the colors, and everything is so adorable. You do such an amaazng job! Love you girl! pps. Guess what I totally bought last week though?! Spanx. Yup. I'm totally cheating and I don't even care. Sometimes life calls for drastic measures.

My friend - Block anonymous comments. Hurtful cowards have no right to spread their ugliness. You certainly have enough people who KNOW you and absolutely LOVE you to fill up the comments. We need LESS negativity in our perfect happy lives. XOXO

You are so gorgeous and must remember that it took 9 months for Finn to grow. I do not understand people who write hurtfull or unkind comments . I so enjoy your blog so keep positive and continue doing what you want and enjoy your blog.

Lillie, you are adorable. I'm sorry you're being a target of some mean spirited people out there. Please please don't stop doing what you do. We all love you... you brighten our day and I look forward to your posts... beautiful pics and great writing. Lisa is sooooo right about the person being insecure. They have the problem, not you.

I wish I was popular enough to have anonymous commenters:) I'll still never forget the Vietnamese woman (which is close to Japan, so see? tie-in to current events) who told me to use hot towels and go on a diet when she found out during my pedicure that my baby had already arrived. Also, dental hygienist when she saw me after having Julia, "Oh, I was under the impression you'd HAD your baby!" Try spending the next 45 minutes with her 2 inches from your face, both humiliated. Ha!

People who haven't had babies don't know what the body is capable of (for better and worse).

Mr., Mrs., or Miss Anonymous... You obviously have no idea who you're talking about because everyone who actually knows Lillie, knows that she's incredibly grateful for all her blessings and reaches out and loves everyone. Just because she focuses on the positive things in her blog doesn't make her less aware of the devastation happening in the world...it just makes her someone who chooses to focus on the beautiful parts of life and laugh/cry at the trivial, like baby chub. She loves life and embraces all of it...but, she also mourns for others losses and struggles and loves her friends despite their weaknesses. She is candid and charming...and for you to try to turn that into a negative makes me have 6 words for you...Go to hell cowardly, insecure bastard!!!

That is exactly why I never comment on a woman being pregnant until she brings it up or the baby is crowning.

You look great, Lilly, don't worry about what other people say or think. It takes 9 months for a baby to grow and it might just take 9 months to get it off and that is OK.

and I agree with blocking anon comments.

Hi Lillie,
I came across your blog on a friend of a friend's blog :) I wanted to let you know that I absolutely love your photography and think that you have a beautiful family! Also, I'm sorry that some anonymous commenters are so incredibly rude. Clearly those individuals are jealous and bored with their own lives. Please know that the majority of us anonymous readers really enjoy your blog. Don't let the obnoxious, negative people bring down your spirits. :)
