Fall!

Saturday was the first day I felt a little bit of Fall. Ahhhhh. Fall. We drove out to Redlands and met our friends, Sean and Lindsey and their two, adorable little ones at the cutest pumpkin patch I've ever been to. It was the real thing. Where they grow real pumpkins and Christmas trees (unlike the ones near our house where they've displayed some shipped-in pumpkins amongst a few shipped-in hay stacks.) There was kettle corn popping in the huge kettle, carmeled apples, wheel barrels to push around your pumpkins (or your kids?), a petting zoo, and even a wide selection of porta-potties. I could have done without that last bit of authenticity, especially seeing as an hour of my life can demand 4 or 5 potty breaks these days, what with the baby SO low and constantly doing a jig on my bladder. But really, even with the out-house experience, and the 76 degree weather that might not seem quite "Fall-ish" to some, it was the perfect taste of Fall for our little desert-dwelling family. And SO good to spend time with old, golden friends.

Here's Sophia enjoying the huge blow-up slide. The second picture is when we let her go up by herself... it was too cute watching the kids pile up behind her as she held up the line with her 2-year-old pace.

And just some more...

We did manage to get one of all of us... of course all of us facing forward would have been far too much to ask... but all of us nonetheless: Ross, Sophia, my belly and me, with Sean, Lindsey, Ethan and Malia.

Afterwards, we went to dinner, and thanks to a table clearing in our area of the restaurant, were able to let the kids run figure eights through the empty tables hitting each other with their new balloons. They loved each other by the end of the night. Here's proof of course. :) What's cuter than a little-person hug?

Barneys, we miss you already!

Oh my gosh, funny thing, I only read your blog on days I post myself, right. So this morning I get to work and first thing I do is post my blog, then I go to read yours. But imagine my surprise when our blogs were almost the same. I'm not stalking you, I promise. :)

Hey- your arm looks awesome in the picture of the three of you. Sorry to be so shallow but pregnant pictures of the upper arm can be scary. But not yours- you look amazing.

My favorite picture is the first one, the one of Sophia approaching the giant pony. Good eye Lillie, good eye. (What sport did we say that in? Good eye. V-ball?)

You look great, Lillie for being so prego! You have an adorable family and I'm glad that you're getting some much needed fall temperatures. It's been a lot cooler here in AZ, too. Are you anywhere close to those awful wildfires? I hope not.

That sound absolutely perfect. I love fall....weather in the 70's....and adorable, fun kids to take to the pumpkin patch. How fun! And Lindsey and Sean are great. I've only met them once but they were super cool.

And by the way, you look Fabuloso. I wish I looked like you with only weeks left!

The pony pic! I love Soph's perfect ponytail as she approaches the great creature. Beautiful shot.

Looks like you guys had so much fun! We went to an orchard/pumpkin patch over the weekend too, and I couldn't stop laughing at the adorable kids and their parents who loved to put them in the wheelbarrows. Hope you enjoyed the kettle corn and a perfect fall-ish day.

hooray for fall!! I remember moving to seattle and having actual pumpkin patches all over the place..it was so bizarre...the "real autumn" concept. glad you could enjoy some of it.

sigh...thanks for commenting even though I've been silent since annie's arrival..I'm afraid when you have your little one we'll be double- whammied on the lack of communication. realize though that even if I don't comment, your blog is often up so I can listen to your happy music list. how's THAT for stalking? :) "when you're soaring through the air..." ;) makes me happy.

I too enjoyed (was crazy jealous of) your sweet upper arms..you look all baby, my friend.

you're wonderful. let's talk again soon. :)

I love the pic of Sophia and Sean. It is so sweet to see kids hugging. I am glad you are feeling mobile enough to get out and have a good time. I see no waddling from you. You look like you are doing great.

Love those pictures! Looks so fun. Forgot to mention this, I looked at your blog when we were at our hotel and the music started playing. Some teenage kid came up to me as I was looking at it and said he loved that song (I was busy looking at pics, not listening to the super cool music). Anyways, you're hip.

We miss you already! We went to the patch again to show my mom, and Ethan loved telling her about everything! Especially "Phia" and her dad who caught him on the slide! He has asked me about his friend "Phia" about 12 times now, so we need to get together... I need a baby update though - any due date? THEN we can plan a play date:)
