So far so good! She never came out last night... and the morning was relatively normal. It started a little earlier than usual, which I NEVER want, but it's exactly what I expected since she usually talks a little in the 6's and then starts calling for us at 7. I figured she'd come out right when she woke up. Sure enough, at 6:30, we heard a thump, some shuffling, the door open then close, and then watched her fingers pop out under the door "mommy mommy mommy mommy mommy". She must get that she's not supposed to come out... I REALLY hope that sticks. Pretty certain she'll test that a bit more in the future.
Today's nap was the next test, and after one cracking of the door with one eye peering out at me-- she took my direction to go back to bed, and shut the door without a peep. I just looked in there, a little unsure what I'd find...and she's cuddled up perfectly big-girl-esque in her twin sized bed. I love it. Enough to risk awaking her with the flash...
Her room is still a mess with too much stuff squished in so this is only to give some visual of her in her big bed. A good picture of the bed in place, made, and with a bedroom to put it in context- still to come.

Hey there Lillie, I don't know if you remember me, we met once a long time ago. I am a friend of brooke's from Walnut creek. My name is Stacy Woods? Well, I just was "checkin" out your blog- adorable by the way, and I just had to comment on your last post about your search for a bed. 4 weeks ago we had thee EXACT same situation. Right down to the buying of the mattress and craigslisting the used box-spring. It was identicle- My 2 1/2 year old son Vinnie was also sleeping in his crib that night after we had just spent the day doing bed set up. I am due with our third baby on Oct. 23rd. Anyway....thought that was kind of amuseing. Hello to Ross for me and hope you don't mind the blog"stalk" - Stacy
Such a cute picture. I love the bed. We have a toddler bed for Drew but I'm not brave enough yet. I like having her confined. I think it's such a good idea you're doing it before the new baby comes.
I can NOT wait for the photos of the bed + room. The colors and patterns look so inviting and perfectly Sophia-esque.
I've got another year before I attempt this hurdle with a big girl bed. I love that she just sticks her fingers under the door rather than opening it. I love kids - they're so much fun.
I LOVE the bed and bedding. And of course she looks so cute laying in all. We all miss you. When Tanner and I were drawing in the sand the other day, he kept having me draw "Yillie and Sia". = )
Definitely post pictures of the girls' rooms when you get a chance. You always do such a good job!
Definitely worth the risk of waking her up.... :)
We've just moved Gracie into her big bed and most nights it goes great.
And then there are the mornings I wake up and she's next to me - but those are great too.
I've an award for you at my blog.
