Pool Days, jeans, and such

So it's officially pool season and every Thursday a group of moms get together for pool day at one of the local country clubs. I've been twice after this morning, and those have been the best two mornings of my mother-of-a-toddler life. There's a huge shallow entry so she walks around happily, dunking here and there, while I have conversations with adults, for over an hour before she decides to venture in to the deep end and make me work a little harder. I thought my days of lounging in the sun were over for a while, but I actually. get. to lounge. There's so many kids, toys, and snacks, she doesn't know what to do with herself and completetly forgets her normal form of communication as of late--- the scream. It's wonderful. She's happy. I'm happy. She gets comfortable in the water, I get sun on my pregnant legs (doesn't a tan make you look 5 pounds thinner or something??) I'm really hoping for some magic.

I just found out a local boutique is selling Serfontaine maternity jeans for half off. (Must confess, I hadn't even heard of Serfontaine but saw them on an adorable pregnant friend and they were SUPER cute).. And they're normally the kind you spend your year's jeans budget on. Is it bad that that helps me believe they're cute? I'm a sucker for NOTHING designer, but jeans. Half off? We're totally going after her nap.

I've gained six pounds. Six pounds in the first trimester that last time I maybe gained a pound in, and even then I knew it was only because I was eating the world. I don't know why I'm confessing... but six pounds, and I've got over 27 weeks to go. Hmmmm... I just ate pancakes for lunch. Who makes pancakes all alone for lunch? *Sigh*

I'm laughing so hard at the making pancakes by yourself line. Funny stuff Lillie. I love your pool days. There is no such thing as a pool day in this town out here. And I'm sure you'll look fabulous in designer jeans. I admit, they're something I'm also willing to spend money on. Six pounds? Puh-lease, I do that every three months too. Sans the excuse.

I wish we had a pool group! Grace loves to be in her pool, but it would a lot funner with more kids and moms! How much are those jeans? I bet you'll look awesome in them! Six pounds is nothing, Lillie. You look great and I hope that you're feeling alright. Keep smiling because you're a beautiful pregnant mommy!

Pool days are the best. From now on, I will spend Saturday afternoons in the pool on a raft at my parent's house. I look forward to it every week. I too am hoping that a tan will help with my growing body. :)

I love the jeans. For half-off, I sure hope you buy a pair. However, one thing to consider, is it is REALLY hot for the majority of the rest of your pregnancy. The thought of pants just sounds horrible to me, but you might like them. And don't worry about the six pounds...I gained more than that in the first trimester of my FIRST pregnancy. I guess I'm on track with weight gaining but it's what we talked about last week...when food is your only comfort and the only way you feel better, don't worry about the few extra pounds. You look fabulous....always.

I am so excited for you to be prego again. And a bit jealous that you go to the pool oft. I think I will not feel completely like a true mom, until I go swimming or lounging in my case, with my kids.
Have you ever done the pencil test? It is wa great fun way to see what your having?

I loved that you went to the "country club" with a couple of friends. definitely nothing like that out here, we must settle for ymca or something. :)

I COMPLETELY agree that being tan helps with the self esteem. Give me a shade or two of darkness and I say bring on the pounds. :) well, okay, not really, but yes yes, the tan helps.

any help on where to buy swimsuits?

Love the jeans. Love that you are pregnant. Love that you go to the "club" with the other moms. Don't you love the pools that have the shallow entry? We went to one a couple weeks ago and it was SO much fun.

And Lillie. You need to start checking my Tangled and True blog. I can't say, but we might be having giveaways that would interest a pregnant girl like yourself soon.

You are going to be a gorgeous pregnant woman again, no matter how much you gain! I'm in the camp of "6 pounds is nothing," too (but then I gained almost 60 with *both* pregnancies...regardless of how differently I ate with both...).
TOTALLY splurge on those jeans. I'm the same way--designer jeans are my only "designer" splurge. People who don't understand just haven't tried them! And if there was ever a time that you needed jeans that make you feel thin and cute, it's during pregnancy!!!

Lillie, I FINALLY checked your blog after what seemed like weeks, and after our '5 second' conversation last week, I still want to finish our chat!! I felt so bad, it was total chaoss in the car, Dan was out of town so my sister and my mom came to visit, and we were in Park City, and we were all parched and farmished and the only thing opened was Taco Bell, and my mom was asking me what to order Lillie, and all I wanted to do was jump out of the car and talk to you! So I'm so sorry, and I'll try to call you again this week. But, CONGRATULATIONS on baby #2!! Sophia is going to be the cutest big sister, and I love that they will be 2 1/2 years apart? That's perfect, I'm so happy for you and Ross. What an exciting month! Birthday, Anniversary, and I forgot Mother's day was all in your month, too!! How fun, I know what you mean about the "let down"...it's funny how spoiled we get. I LOVED the picture of you and Ross in front of the temple. You two just glow, what a HOT couple!!!

Okay, so I meant to put famished, not "farmished"....I hate that.

Funny, I thought I'd already commented. Lil, agreed, you and Ross look stunning. Love seeing you in front of the temple - it reminds me of your wedding day. And your life really is perfect. Baby Soph, great husband, bun in oven, pool days, stunningly beautiful no matter what's going on (pregnancy, sickness... etc etc). Remind me to be you if reincarnation ever pans out.

Love you and want to see you soon! Let's talk July/August...
