What did you do?

We baked cupcakes, got Macaroni Grill take-out and sparkling lemonade from Fresh and Easy, and looked through the windows of new homes after hours with our emergency preparedness car-flashlight. That was the most romantic part of Valentine's Day. Did I mention that it's 12:37 am, I should be in bed, but can't get myself there since I'm sleeping alone tonight. Ross is camped out for the night in a parking lot about a mile away, awaiting the 9 am "UnAuction" at a local new neighborhood . Yup. A sale on new homes. what? I'll save that post for another day. For now, this was one piece of our Valentines Day.

At what point is imitation no longer flattery, but just plain single-white-female? On Valentine's morning I looked at Allie's blog and saw her pretty pink cupcakes and thought.... mmmm... I want pretty pink cupcakes, so I made some, and took pictures of them, because.... well... that's what Allie did.

I like to think as long as I give credit where it's due, I can keep 'borrowing' ideas from others. :) (In my defense, turquoise is the only color of cake stand that I have (thankyou Marnie).. that's not to say I wouldn't have gone out to buy one just to get as close to Allie's pics as possible... but not necessary this time.)

Yum. Hope you had a happy Valentines Day.

Hi Lillie. I just had to say that you are SUCH an amazing photographer. Those pics of the cupcakes SERIOUSLY look like they came out of martha stewart magazine. I'm not even kidding. I thought maybe they were for a second until I realized they were YOUR cupcakes that YOU made. I just had to comment. All your pictures are beautiful. Anyway, good luck on the auction? Sounds interesting!

Sounds like your VDay was fun. Macaroni Grill=yummy. Your cupcakes are beautiful. Jealous for sure. I'm anxious to hear about Ross' camping out adventure for a new house. Is yours still on the market? Have you had any interested people?

So funny lillie because I just checked Allie's blog wondering if it was another Ali we knew and I was suprised at the beautiful cupcake pictures. What kind of girl am I to make cupcakes and not even think of taking pictures of them? Yes, we made 24 strawberry cupcakes with strawberry icing on the 13th and we have been eating them ever since... I think I'll go eat the last one right now... Oh, great pictures, you really should start a business or something.

I'm all for unabashed admiration and copying, don't you worry. Especially with allie...she's worth it. yours looks equally as yummy though too, and that first one with sophia, SO fun. :) list me with the people curious about Ross's adventures...we'll be waiting for that story! Glad your heart day was a good one! :)

Lillie,
I seriously need to have you take our family picture. There isn't one shot that doesn't look professional. I guarantee you could make my children who look like orphans 99% of the time into Baby Gap models overnight. Let me know when you have an opening and we'll come on over. Money is not an option (ha ha)

As yummy as the cupcakes look on that gorgeous platter, the batter on Sophie and the beater looks even more yummy and lick-able. I think the camera has more than paid for itself.
