So Ross had Good Friday off (banking holiday... perks of working for Merrill) so we headed down to San Diego early Friday even though the grandkids' sleep-over didn't start until Nana and Papa got home from work. We took our time on the drive and stopped at Balboa Park on the way, one of Ross's very favorite San Diego attractions. We perused the botanical garden, a museum, and then spent most of the time letting Sophia explore the timeless architecture. She loved it, the pillars, the stairs, the archways... she ran around in pure joy. (I posted the only picture where she let Ross grab her hand for a moment- don't be deceived by the angelically calm little girl walking hand in hand with her Daddy... Tasmanian devil all the way.) While we walked around, Ross told me that the day we visited Balboa Park while were dating in the spring of 2002, was the day he knew he wanted to marry me. Smile.
Friday night was the sleep-over, Colton, Chloe, Heath and Soren slept in a tent in the backyard with Papa (Nana snuck out after midnight...can you believe she even tried???!.) What kind of grandparents attempt sleeping out doors in a tent with 4 little ones? Only the best grandparents ever! Then of course they hosted the Easter barbecue the next day... ribs and steak (thanks to Ian-YUM-- adjacent picture of him and Teresita) and an Easter egg hunt for the adults and the kids (this gave the kids a chance to hide some too.) Sophia wanted to be right in there with her cousins and had to climb the hill with the best of them. She seriously looked like a little soldier climbing up that hill in a rapid army crawl in her oversized boy sweatshirt (forgot it was possible for weather to be cold.)

Looks like you had a great weekend. I love all of your pictures and am totally jealous that you always get so many great pictures. I admire that for sure! That's some awesome grandparents for undertaking such a great big task! Sophia looks so beautiful in her Easter dress and I love the pic of you as well. You're way gorgeous, Lillie! Did you get my email?
SUCH cute pictures.. all of them . I do love the father/daughter one on the steps. Sophie reminds me of my Macey... adventurous and busy!!! I'm glad you guys had a nice Easter weekend!
What beautiful little blonde kids! They are all so cute. Love Sophia's Easter dress. Looks like you guys had a great weekend!
Happy Easter to the Biesingers - a perfect weekend it looks like! Those sepia of Balboa park are beautiful - totally framable (Ross's office wall??) and the one of Ross and Sophie gave me chills. I just pictured what it was like to know him as Ross the great guy, and now he's Ross, the father of that beautiful baby you share. Wow.
Great post and love all the pics. The grandkids shot is priceless - beautiful towhead blondes. I'm going to have to marry a blonde for any hope. Sophia's Easter dress....so sweet and feminine, love the white and pink. And hello SKINNY, you are the teeniest pink thing.
I agree with the masses...so glad you would take pictures, and not all posed ones (take any pictures of me out of a pose, and you will NOT like what you find, not that naturally photo-able I guess...) hooray for cousins, and for beautiful Easter dresses. is there anything better than easter dresses on little ones?
glad you could get away with your boy. what a nice comment about knowing you were the one during that park visit...shivers. :)
thanks for the post! :)
How darling are you three? I wish I could have seen you. Better yet, I wish you could have come to Ave's birthday party. It would have been beyond fun if you had made it.
Another time. FOR SURE. Balboa Park is one of our favorites, but I'm sure with a walking/running baby it is even more fun. Glad you enjoyed it!
Darn it. That one above was me too. Again, I was doing work for the blog that my friend Kelli and I share.
Wow--you are really, really skinny!!!! Beautiful pics!
