Under Pressure

So I got this anonymous comment on my last post that I'm pretty sure, unless I'm totally guilty of tone-through-technology-misperception (did you follow that? I should coin it "TTTM") was telling me my post was BORing. How rude. I saw on some one's sidebar once "If you can't say something nice, don't say it on this blog." I might have to steal that.

Now I'm feeling all this pressure to be interesting and it's just not helping the creative juices. Ross and the girls are in Orange County seeing his family, my Achievement-Day-Girls Mothers-Day Breakfast is over, and I've got this empty, quiet house to myself, nobody tugging at my brain-strings... I should be taking advantage of it all with some great story I usually don't have time to tell!. But Mr. Sour-puss-anonymous ruined it for me. Too much pressure.

I'm off to have the Butterfish tonight at Roy's for our anniversary. I still remember blogging about it last year for the same occasion. I'll spare you the mouth-watering description of it this time, but if you haven't gone yet and you have one close by... GO. amazing.

(Oh and the photo above is from my most recent shoot of one of the cutest little blond families you've seen---just wanted to post one over here.)

Okay, here's my thought on the whole blog thing. First off, if people find your blog boring then why are they checking it? So, whoever said you were boring is just a little jealous. Your blog is great.

As for the reason to blog. When I first started blogging I felt pressure from all these unknown readers. I felt like if I didn't get comments they didn't like the content and it took away from what I was writing. So I made the decision that this was MY blog, MY thoughts, and MY life. I wanted to record the stuff that was important to me so, Not some random girl. Since then I feel no pressure to post regularly or to reply to every commenter. I also feel totally liberated about being able to write about how my kid things I sound like Elmo when I sing.

Don't worry about what anyone else thinks. You've got it going on!

I had to check out the comment and it is so rude! Not every post needs to be mind bending. Life is monotonous most of the time. That is what I love about your blog that you find joy visually and verbally in the everyday. Keep doing what you do and come out of the closet anonymous.

I fell asleep in the middle of the other comments.

Just kidding. They never changed the name of Roy's? I thought the new ownership was going to call it something less cool?

And I think you know, but anonymous was definitely not me. Not nearly creative enough.

I think that anonymous is an a-hole. Don't mind him, I like your posts.

What if it was a woman?

Unfortunate sexism (shakes head sadly).

my issue is that if someone is going to criticize, they should own up to it! your posts are always great- that's why sooo many people read and check all the time for new material, including myself! ;)

I'll give a big AMEN to all the other comments here...keep on writing. Your blog brings smiles to me face & definetly keeps me entertained enough that I don't do nearly enough posts on my own blog!

Thanks everyone. :) I'm officially revived by positive friends.

And sorry Joe, you're right... I'm sure the chances are much higher that it's a girl anyway. No sexism intended. ;)

... although it is a little more likely that a BOY get painfully bored in a play-by-play health-update of my daughter. But at any rate, anonymous will remain genderless from now on.

Okay, I just had to go and read that comment and that was terrible! Your blog is completely the opposite, it's so fresh and fun and always leaves me wanting more. And I love how you write, because I feel like we've actually talked, it's that real. And I love your new PHOTO BLOG...Hooray!!! You do such amazing photography, by the way. Wow. I love love LOVE the ones of you guys at the beach, and on that super green grass. Anyway, yeah, your blog is definitely NOT boring. I haven't been on here in a while, and it was so fun to catch up!!

You don't know me but I've come across your blog from a friend of a friend of a friend...who knows by now! ...But I've checked back on your blog MANY times since I came across it because I just love it. You have such a good sense of humor and seem so down-to-earth and full of life. You also have a way of keeping it real which I like and appreciate. (I too bawled my eyes out during the biggest loser when Sam was so distrought over his own huge weight issue!)

I hope you know that you are awesome and who cares about what Mr. (uh, or Miss) Anonymous thinks. Keep up the blogging, I love it! :)

What a freak! I echo that if someone isn't interested, then why are they here in the first place...and btw d---head, this is her blog, not yours! Go make yours more interesting if you think you have it in you, and keep your mean comments to yourself.
We all love Lillie and she's allowed to not always have to be on, even though I think she pretty much always is!
