Obscene or just...Interesting?

I'm not sure if I want anyone to answer that... obviously I decided to put the naked belly shot against Ross' facial expression that said a thousand words and my better judgment. I could have sworn we took one that day with my shirt down, but... none to be found. Maybe the battery ran out right then. I chose "small" for a reason. Do yourself a favor and don't pop out.

So these are not an even comparison. But that's what's so scary. Don't I look about the same? And yet, the first one is the DAY we had Sophia at around 37 weeks. The second is a few weeks ago when we went to the pumpkin patch which puts me at a little past 33 weeks. Almost a month's difference. YIKES! (I don't think I've ever used that word in writing... or speaking, but it felt appropriate.) I'll be 37 weeks on Thursday, so I'll have to check it out then. All I know is the response this time to my growing bulge has been much more dramatic, a lot more gasps, stares, empathetic eyes, and comments like "you must be due any day!" and "how do you not fall over?!" (I put that in here just for you Lisa :)), and "That's a BOY!" ... (Apparently you stick out farther with a boy? And everyone's a doctor of course. That one's been making me a little nervous since we only had one ultrasound this time as opposed to the three with Sophia confirming her gender... hmmm.) Anyway, the overall response makes me think my belly must be a little more shocking on the eyes than when I was pregnant with Sophia.... we'll see with the next comparison.

Lillie! You look so adorable! I love pregnancy shots.. thanks for sharing. And it is scary how much bigger one gets with each pregnancy. I hope you're feeling ok, and good luck!

I love the naked belly shot. Lillie, you have a beautiful pregnant belly. I know how strange that sounds, but it really is an attractive pregnant belly. I think you are one of the few people that wear pregnancy very well. I only wish you felt beautiful.

You look great! The belly definitely stretches more the second time. . . not sure it's worth it to see how much more it will stretch with the third, fourth, etc! I only wish I looked as good as you prego. Darling.

Lillie, you are beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. There is just something special about those belly pictures right before the baby is due. They are the ones I like to look back at the most. It could be because Mark told me he doesn't remember me any more beautiful. Um, hello, how 'bout our wedding day! :) Just 15 days to go!!!

It's just so astounding to me. I can NOT believe you're growing a person - that it's attached to you inside of you and in a few weeks it will just come out and then you'll be blogging pictures of a new little face. As common as this should be to me by now, it's not. I marvel - and the nakedness of your belly just makes it so real. (I think sometimes I imagine women are wearing basketballs and go pick up the baby somewhere at an undisclosed location or something). Very beautiful.

Well I think you look a lot skinnier in the picture of you now. I know you don't believe me, but you really do look all belly. You look beautiful.

I wish I could look like you pregnant! I am choosing to ignore the "you get so much bigger with #2" comments because I was HUGE with number one!

You look beautiful and I can't wait to see this little girl.

You will be on child eleven, each one bigger than the last, before I think a shot of your belly at 33 weeks is obscene. I'm just glad you're doing this.

It really does look like you're hiding a basketball under there. I love that you post preg pictures. This is the greatest miracle ever to experience and it's nice to share it.

I'm the 11th one to say it and probably the gazillionth one to think it: you look amazing Lillie. I love pregnant tummies and yours is one to covet.

Really, I'm kind of counting down with you because I can't WAIT to see this new baby girl.

I love that you have 12 comments, all about your BELLY. you are THAT important to THAT many people. love it. :)

What I would like to add is that pregnant belly is way better than after-baby belly..I forgot to enjoy the tightness/no flab that is the last couple of months. now that I'm back to my normal, loose, yuck, I'm remembering the other stuff and am a little sad. okay, so being able to sleep on my stomach MIGHT make up for it, but still, "enjoy" this while you can.

love you! can't wait for the little one to show her face.

Exactly what I was going for. Now I know if I'm feeling in need of a little compliment shower... just post naked belly... whether honestly or out of pure discomfort in seeing something so pale and so large, everyone will say something wonderful!

Lillie, you look great!!!! Also, part of the reason you are getting so many comments could also be that you are in the desert where people don't really understand pregnancy or children. Too many "gray heads"

your stomach pokes out a bit just b/c it obviously doesn't know how to filter anywhere else in your body, like your butt, back, face or arms. if it weren't for your basketball belly you wouldn't even look pregnant. i want to look like you when i am pregnant. it has a nice shape and sits just at the right spot. too bad you can't where your shirt up like that everywhere. that would be awesome.

Lillie, I love the pregnant pics. You are the cutest pregnant mama. Good luck with baby #2. Nothing compares to welcoming a little one into the world. Makes me want to be pregnant again.

Ok lizzie's going to kill me, because I haven't commented on her blog, or anyone else in my family, but I was curious where the whole tagging thing started, so I looked on your blog and then I was captivated by your pictures. First of all- How is it that all your pictures look so professional? My wedding pictures don't look that good. AND- I love your belly pictures. I always want to see peoples bare pregnant bellies, AND- I just have to say- you have a beautiful curve in your back! AND- just to let you know- I think you are so beautiful.
